Pownce Is Back now its called socialkloud its ood I was just going to give up, soup.io its good but more of a tumblr great to hold all my fun pix friendfeed is sweet but not as chatty and twitter is too chatty so apparently i had invites to what was called topixz so http://socialkloud.com/cyskopownce and http://socialkloud.com/cyskopownce

New RSS Feed for Pownce2 Group

Woohoo! The Soup Team just gave us an RSS feed for the Pownce 2 group that aggregates the posts of all members (not just the ones you specifically post to the group) so now you can follow their Soup activity on the Soup Group on Pownce Refugees, Google Reader, or wherever else you read RSS feeds. And of course you can continue to follow the members stream here on Soup.

Pownce is Back (Sort of)

Today I opened up Firefox and I hadn't changed it from my Pownce being the front page and Shock of Shocks... My Pownce page was there.

On the top of the page was the bar they were canceling the service, only now it says "A temporary read-only version of the site is available for archival purposes (more info).
Thanks to everyone for making this community so wonderful. We appreciate your understanding!".

Upon following the link it took me to Pownce's Get Satisfaction account where they have decided that because of the importance of Permalinks that they will leave a read only version of pownce up for a limited time.

Maybe the Internet Archive should preserve the Pownce Archive for prosperity as so much digital history on the net is just deleted and lost never to be seen again.

@hacool That is a very good question. I tag links quite often to Delicious. The good news is we / you can always turn it off if it becomes an overload. I am trying many new avenues of communication with the demise of Pownce.
Branching out will be a good learning experience for me.

Too much content?

I'm wondering if including de.licio.us, stumbleupon, Flickr, etc. is going to make this site too crowded...or if it makes it too much like my FriendFeed stream. Thoughts? Do you want to know every weird thing I bookmark for work and play or are you satisfied that you can easily find that elsewhere?

I'm now pulling this stream into http://pownce2.ning.com, so if you want to have your items shared there, you can share them here. It looks like you have to share specifically to this Pownce group on soup, not just to your own soup. Of course you can also pull feeds into your own Pownce Refugees page. I'm pulling in my FriendFeed there.
